Term 6 Week 6

Here is an outline of your learning for term 6, week 6:
Term 6 Week 6– overview
On Wednesday afternoon we have a Kick-It tournament with year 6. This has kindly been organised by Mr Mackinnon and Mr Luckhurst.
Our ukulele lesson with Mr Lawrence will happen as usual on Monday afternoon.
Spelling and grammar – we will be reviewing the year 3 and 4 spelling words.
In English, we will be completing our neat copies and covers for our own hero myth based on Beowulf.
In maths, we will be completing our unit on money and then revisiting some key concepts such as subtraction with more than one exchange, the formal method of multiplication and short division.
In science, we will be thinking about different types of animal teeth and their functions.
In history, we are going to be learning about life in an Anglo-Saxon village, Anglo-Saxon art, music and culture and the spread of Christianity during this period.
In RE, we will be learning about the Hindu celebration of Diwali with its associated stories.
Reading records will be sent home, with free-reading children choosing a book from the selection in class or bringing one from the reading scheme. All children have an additional book in their tray for reading sessions in class. Please could we have reading records in school to be checked on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
